  1. The Dead by Night.
    About midway between Adare and Patrickswell about ninety years ago there was a field owned by a man named Mr. Halvey. This field was bare - no grass grew in it, as it did on the other fields.
    One night the man was in his house. He heard the trampling of feet and the beating of drums. He went out and he saw the army of ghosts marching around the field, headed by a band. The man became frightened when he saw the crowd.
    The man who was leading the ghosts turned back and said.
