  1. As old relic of the Fenian movement of '67.
    The following account has been given by Cornelious Normoyle of Rower, Adare. He has in his possession the stock and lock of an old pistol, which was taken from a horse policeman by a man named Lyons, between Croom and Bruree in the '67 movement. Lyons held the horseman up single-handed and made him give up the pistol.
    He went on the run. He stayed in the house of Cornelious Normoyle's aunt, Mrs. Kelly of Carrass. He later escaped to America
