I heard of an old custom that used to take place at the crossroads. The tax-gatherers used to stand at the cross and gather money from the people that passed, in cars. Those crossroads were called turn pikes.
There was one mass path from Glenanudig Bridge to Cnocán Teamrac.

  2. The names of the principal roads are the Limerick road, The Mountain road, the Ahacross road, the New Line road.
