    Tillage - very little tillage done beyond that necessary for house and animals. Potatoes, mangolds, turnips heaps of cabbage - Beet for Mallow an cows are grown.
    Potatoes are very good.
    Only farmers with plenty help like to grow much beet as it entails a lot of help.
    In Winter the farmer gives alot of feeding to cattle
    men do ditches
    drains,
    horses
    machinery
    improves dwelling house
    cuts timber
    Attends fairs, markets, Coursing Meeting and local hunts and is generally free at 5pm when he remains in to read smoke, listen to wireless or play Cards. in own or neighbour's house.
    Woman do all knitting mending and sewing in long nights
