    Local Birds
    Thrush The thrush is a lovely singing bird and it is said that if we hear her before the 2nd of Feb. we will have much hardship and severe weather.
    Magpie A certain number of magpies is for luck and a certain number for bad luck, (this is an old saying). This bird builds her nest in fences and the colour of her eggs are blue.
    Swallow This bird comes to Ireland in Spring and she goes away in Autumn. It is said that when the swallow flies low it is the sign of rain. She builds her nest
