    The monks were killed by Queen Elizabeth's soldiers, one day, an English soldier went into Ardcrone to see if any monk was left alive, all he saw was a skull and it spoke and said.
    "Today for me,
    To-morrow for you,
    As now you are,
    So once was I,
    As now I am,
    So shall you be,
    Prepare for death
    And follow me."
    The following day, the soldier was shot at an ambush at Dysert in Castleisland.
