  1. There are a number of forts in this locality and some of them are Johnny Walsh's fort, John Dwyer's fort, Mick Murren's, and the one in the castle field. These forts were built in the time of the Finbolg, and they used them to preserve their houses from the wild animals and from their enemies. Johnny Walsh's fort is situated about half a mile from the school. It is circular in shape,
