    Pike fishing by night lines, or trolling also sometimes yields considerable results. With the night lines all that is required is to bait the hook with a small perch or frog, throw it into a deep hole, and await results.
    The trolling is done from the bank of a river with a rod, or from a lake with an "author". This is a peculiarly shaped flat board, so loaded with lead on one edge that it stands upright in the water. To it is attached a long line which is gradually paid out as the fisher walks slowly along the shore. little by little the "author" makes its way out lough carrying with it the line to which are attached scores of baits of all types,
