  1. The people make a currant cake at Christmas. They had pan cakes at Shrove. The people put a mark on top of the cake so that it would not grip to the oven.
    The people ate salted meat. They did not get very many fish but all they got was salted. they used to have a turkey, or a goose or a chicken for Christmas.
