- CuresToothache: If there is a hole in the tooth fill it with sulphate of copper, or tobacco, or ginger, or whiskey. Fill the hole with a wad of cotton wool steeped in Jeyes' fluid.If you are given a horse's tooth without asking for it you will never get a toothache.If you can take a piece of butter off the point of your elbow with your lips you will never suffer toothache.Fill the hole in the tooth with a mixture of soot, salt or vinegar.To cure and prevent toothache find three hazel nuts growing together and rub the tooth with same.(continues on next page)
