    Long ago there was a hard working farmer.

    priest went into the room to hear confessions and when he came down he asked the woman had she all things. The woman said she had. The priest said he could not read mass in the house. She should put out the devil first. He asked the woman where was he. She pointed up in the loft. The priest got his whip and told her go and get it. She pulled out a small bag from under the rafter and the priest kicked it out the door. From that out the woman could not steal butter or the man could not steal oats from his neighbour.
