    About eighty years ago a publican lived in Church St, Listowel.

    inquired for Mr. Collis. The butler told him wait in the hall because he looked anything but a wealthy man. Collis came out and O Sullivan told him his business. Though Collis asked a stiff price O'Sullivan bought the farm. Before he signed for it Mr Collis said to him "You know, O'Sullivan you must have some security with yourself and I see no one with you" O Sullivan took Collis by the sleeve and led him out to where his car was. He lifted up some sacks under which were two firkins - timber firkins in which butter used be sold. He took the lids off them and they were full to the top of gold sovereigns. Collis was dumbfounded.
