    One night a man was coming home from a wake.

    One night a man was coming home from a wake. It was about twelve oclock. He had to go up a boreen to his house. It was a very lonesome place. There was a gate at one side of the boreen, and when he was above the gate he heard the bushes shaking. He looked at the bushes and he saw a rabbit sitting on the road. His two eyes were shining like two lamps. He used be jumping up very high in the air. While he was jumping, the man got a few stones but he could not throw them he was so much afraid. He had a Rosary Beads in his hand and he made the sign of the cross and the rabbit vanished. He went home safely but when he was in bed he heard a voice saying three times, "Are
