    one New Year's Night, a large congregation had assembled and were awaiting the beginning of mass when the priest was dismayed to find that the wine for the sacrifice had either been mislaid or stolen. This disheartening discovery he kept to himself but he prayed to heaven that God would not allow his flock to return home, disappointed without the solace of the Holy Mass to cheer them during the coming year.
    His prayer was answered in a miraculous manner. The waters of the brook nearby were changed into wine thus enabling the awed Priest to offer mass after all.
