  1. A Story of Penal Times
    The townland of Coraneena is situated not far from the town of Kilconnell in a lonely wooded district west of the town.
    In the farm which was but recently divided, the spot is still pointed out with pride where the priest said mass for the people during the dark days when the Penal laws rendered such a deed a crime. At that time priests were scarce so the people gathered there from a wide radius for the forbidden priviledge of hearing Holy Mass.
