    Years went by but the intelligence of the Goban's 'son' did not improve.
    At last it was time for him to get married as the Goban determined that he would at least get a clever wife for his son.
    One day he sent the son to the fair, with a sheep skin from which the wool had not been shorn and ordered him to bring back the skin and the price of it. When the son reached the fair and began to ask the people for the skin and the price of it they thought he was mad and did not heed him.
