    married the bride and bridegroom would go home to the brides house and this is called the months visit.
    During the dance the straw-boys would be outside the house and they would have sticks and bottles tied on to them and they would stick these in the door. They would stick these in the door. They would be filled with whiskey or porter and then they would take them out again and drink it.
    They would stick them in again and they would be filled. They would keep doing that until the dance would be over.
