  1. My grandmother told me a story about the old church in Corker last night.
    A short distance from the holly well in Corker it is built. She said that only the one wall that is now standing was ever built. When the people were building it the Saints cursed it and they prayed that the place might be flooded before morning. In the morning there was a big flood in front of the church ad they were unable to finish it.
    The land in front of the church where the holly well is situated is a swamp.
