  1. Beside the railway bridge in Castletown there lived a weaver named Jack Forde. He stopped weaving about twenty years ago. H used to make blankets and bainins for the people. People used come from far away to buy cloth from him.
    It is said that the looms are working for one hundred years. His father was the first to work them. If you went into the house then you would see sacks filled with balls of thread. He died on the 6th of March 1937.
    He was the only weaver in the district.
