    also.
    (ii) If a girl got a "broom" or brush on Nov. Eve & began sweeping up to a Fort who ever would come & finish it for her would be her husband.

    (iii) If a cock crows on the door step it is said that it is the sign of a stranger.

    (iv) If we see two hens fighting it also is the sign of a stranger.

    There was once a man and woman who had no hay for their cow

    There was once a man & woman who had no hay for their cow. Then one night they decided that they would go & steal some. They went & got the hay alright but just as they were entering their yard every bit of the hay lit in their hands. So they ran in & threw the hay in the yard & ever after that they were afraid to steal anything.
