  2. I got this account from my mother, Mrs Manning, Lurgan, Aughrim, Ballinasloe. Aged 40 years.

    It is a very unlucky thing to go swiming on Whit Sunday. Any one born on Whit Sunday or Whit Monday has a better chance of striking anything they aim at than any other person. All games such as hurling or football should not be played on Whit Sunday in case of accidence.
