  1. In some parts of the country people keep ferrits. They are very useful animals for they would go into a burrow and kill all the rabbits they would come up to. A wild one is very wicked and it would kill a great deal of hens and ducks.
    There are very few wild ones to be seen.
    Some of the old people in Caherlistrane say that there is a cure in the food it leaves after it for the whooping cough.
