  1. Women about to be married, generally spend much money on, and care in choosing their wedding dress.
    They always are very attentive to the colour of them and the colours usually selected are white or blue.
    Here are common sayings about marriage colours—
    "Marry in white and all will be right."
    "Marry in blue and he is sure to prove true."
    "Marry in green and scorn you will not be let to be seen."
    "Marry in red and you will soon wish you were dead."
    "Marry in black and there's a load for your back."
    "Marry in yellow means a troublesome fellow."
    "Marry in pink, troubles through drink."
    "Marry in grey, you'll live to rue day."
    It seems from these old sayings that if married women want to be happy with their husbands, dresses of white or blue bring happiness, but those of other colours
