- Years ago the only way to catch eels was to get a ball of yarn and put some worms through it. A stone was tied to the cord and it was trown into the sea.
When the eel caught the ball of warn in his mouth he could not bite off a piece.
When an eel gets hold of anything it cannot let go until it takes the bite.
