    Many travelling folk visit Skerries to the present day. They go from door to door selling holy pictures, beads, and small things like that. Some of the best known areL "Bessy Baugh," "Jack the Stick," "Rosie Bip Bip," "Bandy Peter," and "Joker." These have been travelling for many years and they still visit my home district. Most of these are very poor, and lots of people buy things from them. They obtain their supplies in Woolworths in Dublin. Most of these travelling folk are welcome and they do not remain longer than a night at a time. They sleep under hay-cocks or
