    Local place-names.
    Skerries, Co. Dublin.
There is a village about three miles from Skerries called "Loughshinny," of the "Lake of the Foxes." These foxes were not real at all but were Fairies. They used to go about talking to people and scaring them out of their wits. It is because of the foxes that Loughshinny got its name.
