    Once upon a time a big giant lived at Mucish Mountain, who's name was Oisin.

    the beast. This time he did not fall asleep and soon he saw the beast coming to his cave carrying a fat sheep in its mouth. When he saw the giant he dropped the sheep and rushed at him. The giant had a great fight with the big beast before he killed it. When the people saw what Oisin had done the (they) made a big feast to which Oisin was asked.
    When Oisin saw the beast first he said muc - ishe which means she is a pig, and ever since the mountain was called Muckish.
