  1. About 80 years ago there was a farmer in the parish of Lower Ballyduff, Co. Waterford who was evicted by the Beresfords. One of his sons went to America and the man for whom he worked saw that he was very intelligent so he had him educated and he turned out to be a barrister. Some years later he wrote the following poem for his Godmother.
