As the hare was about to spring through this hole the black hound sprang and caugh her by the tail and he pulled the tóin bán out of her. Then the hunts men got inside in search of the hare but could get nothing only Cailleach Towley sitting on a pot spinning her wheel. The hunts men lifted her up off the pot to see if the hare was under it and they found nothing but the pot half filled with blood.
She had a horse's bridle which was very useful to her. She used often call at a neighbour's house at the dead of night and would go to his bed side and shake the bridle in front of him and he would have to take the bit in his mouth. And as soon as he did he became a horse saddled and all. And Cailleach Towley mounted on him and rode him down to Belfast to rob a bank. The poor man's wife(continues on next page)- Collector
