My father and mother are still going northwards and will never overtake us.”“But how are we to cross the sea?” said the Prince.“I will convert you into a swan and myself into another,” said the Princess, “and we will fly across the sea to Erin and your father’s castle, but you must act as pilot for I do not know much about Erin”.“Very well,” said the Prince; “that I will do with pleasure.” And so they were soon changed into swans and flew across the sea to Erin. They landed on the cliff of Erris in the County of Mayo and having rested there for a while they proceeded to the royal castle.
