He then placed it on a table and bade the Prince eat.“Well” said the Prince, “that is poor food for a Prince from Erin”.“Well” said the Dwarf King, “you will not get any better whilst you are in this country.”So the Prince picked up a few grains of the meal and pretended to eat, and after the so-called supper was over the little Dwarf King ordered his servant to prepare a bed for the Prince, and so he led him to a large sleeping room. There he stretched an ordinary field harrow.“This is your bed”, he said, “according to my master’s instructions.”“Well“, said the young Prince, “Its’ a poor bed for a young Prince from Erin.”(continues on next page)
