  1. Long ago the people had only too meals every day - one about eleven o'clock in the morning and this consisted of Indian meal stirrabout and milk. The people had always a lot of work done before their breakfast. About six o'clock in the evening they had potatoes and milk for their supper. Oaten bread was the only bread used and it was made from oatmeal and water and left against the stool near the fire to bake. Seldom meat
